Halloween nail art: 10 ideas for your nails this October

Hand-painted Halloween nail art: spider web, ghost and small motifs on nude and black

Every year, as soon as October starts, requests for Halloween nail art pour into our salons. The good news: you don't need a full costume to join in, your nails are enough. Here are 10 ideas our nail artists paint by hand, from the most subtle to the most spine-chilling.

1. The spider web

The classic: a fine web drawn with a brush, white on black or black on nude. On just one or two nails it stays elegant and works at the office as well as at a party.

2. Little ghosts

White ghosts with big black eyes on a glossy black nail: the cutest idea of the season, and often the favourite of anyone who doesn't like scary designs.

3. The bloodshot eye

For a more dramatic effect, an eye painted in relief on a bright red base. On a single nail (ring or index finger), it is enough to catch every eye.

4. The screaming mask

A long white face with an open mouth, on black or deep pink: the cult horror-film motif, redrawn by hand at nail scale.

5. The skull

Small and graphic, white on black or black on white: it pairs easily with plain nails for a look that is more rock than gore.

6. Blood red and white flowers

A deep, glossy red with a few white flowers and a little ghost: perfect if you want a manicure you can still wear after 31 October.

7. Glittery broken glass

A glittery pink or plum base streaked with fine black lines like cracked glass or a web: shiny, original and a little unsettling.

8. Black and nude, alternating

Every other nail in glossy black, the rest in nude with a small motif (spider, bow, cross): the chic option that is easy to wear all week.

9. A single accent nail

Prefer to keep it discreet? Keep your usual colour and ask for one Halloween motif on the ring finger. The wink is there without changing everything.

10. Mix and match

Why choose? Web, ghost, skull and eye on the same hand, one per nail: the most fun version, ideal for a costume party.

Our tips before you book

  • Book early: the last week of October is the busiest, especially Friday 30 and Saturday 31.
  • Allow a little more time: hand-painted nail art is added to your gel polish or gel nails. Mention it when you book so your nail artist keeps the right slot for you.
  • Price: hand-painted Halloween nail art is €3 per nail, on top of the manicure itself. One accent nail, two nails or all ten: it's up to you.
  • Bring a picture: a photo of what you like (from our Our work page or Instagram) helps us get exactly the result you want.
  • Think ahead: if you want a manicure that lasts beyond Halloween, go for ideas 6, 8 or 9. To change afterwards, removal in the salon protects your natural nail.
