What the service includes

A gel set always starts with careful preparation: cuticles pushed back, nails shaped and lightly buffed so the gel bonds well. Depending on what you want, we offer:

  • an overlay (strengthening): a thin layer of gel over your natural nail, to protect it and help it grow without breaking;
  • gel nails with extensions: tips or forms to add length, then UV gel sculpted into the shape you choose (almond, square, coffin…);
  • the finish: colour, French, baby boomer, chrome effect or nail art, with a glossy top coat.

Each layer is cured under a UV/LED lamp, so the set is solid as soon as you leave. Gel or acrylic? Both are done at boulevard Berthier; we will talk it through.

How long it lasts, and how to look after it

A well-kept gel set usually lasts 3 to 4 weeks before an infill. As the nail grows, a bare area appears at the base: an infill fills that regrowth and reshapes the nail, without starting from scratch.

Between appointments, a few habits go a long way: do not use your nails as tools, wear gloves for housework, and keep cuticles hydrated with oil. To remove gel, never pull it off: removal is done at the salon, gently, with or without a new set afterwards.

Frequently asked questions

Gel or acrylic, which should I choose?

Both give strong nail extensions. Gel cures under a lamp and gives a flexible, glossy finish; acrylic hardens in the air and is known for being very hard-wearing. We will advise you at the salon depending on your nails and your habits.

Can I have gel nails on short or damaged nails?

Yes: an overlay strengthens the natural nail without adding length, and extensions on forms bring back length even on very short nails. We look at your nails together before starting.

Do I need an appointment?

You can come with or without an appointment, depending on availability. To be sure of your slot, book online in one minute; after 7 pm, by appointment only.

How much is a gel refill?

A gel refill is €45 (€50 with a gel polish finish) and takes about 50 minutes. Kim Nails prices; the exact menu of your salon is shown when you book.

Are the tools sterilised?

Yes: all tools are sterilised in a UV oven, then disinfected.
