What the service includes
Gel polish (also called semi-permanent polish in France) is a gel varnish cured under a UV/LED lamp: it dries instantly and does not chip like classic polish. The service includes:
- nail preparation: filing, cuticles pushed back, degreasing;
- a base, one or two coats of colour and a top coat, each cured under the lamp;
- a touch of cuticle oil.
With the full manicure, we also take the time to tidy the cuticles and shape the nails before applying the polish. Choose a colour from the swatches, a French or a baby boomer, and add BIAB strengthening if your nails are fragile.
How long it lasts, and how to look after it
Gel polish usually lasts 2 to 3 weeks without chipping; what eventually shows is the regrowth at the base of the nail. To make it last: avoid very hot water in the first few hours, wear gloves for housework and keep your cuticles hydrated.
Never peel it off yourself, as that damages the nail: removal is done at the salon, gently, and can be followed by a fresh application straight away.

Gel polish or gel nails: what is the difference?
Gel polish is a varnish: it adds colour and shine but no length. Gel nails thicken or lengthen the nail. For fragile nails, BIAB strengthening under gel polish is a good compromise.
